I’m a freelance editor living in Campbell, California (Silicon Valley area). A graduate of San Francisco School of Digital Filmmaking, I’ve had hands-on experience with the complete filmmaking process, from screenwriting to post production. My feature film experience includes Script/Continuity Supervisor for Moonlight Sonata and Editorial Technician (P2 capture) for Presque Isle. But my first love is editing, whether narrative or documentary.
My goal is to help the filmmaker realize his or her vision, and I welcome directors who want to sit at my elbow while I work -- I enjoy the collaboration. My style isn’t particularly hip, cool, or effects-laden – I just try to keep the audience fully engaged in the story from start to finish.
I've worked part-time in the editing lab at San Francisco School of Digital Filmmaking, coaching documentary film students in the final stages of their films. I have a particular talent for finding the “story” in a documentary. If you have a doc in the rough-cut stage, I can help you bring it into focus, find the “juice,” figure out what conveys the message and what doesn’t. I really enjoy doing this, and when I have free time, I'm willing to offer an hour or so, free of charge, to low-budget filmmakers who’d like another pair of eyes on their doc.
